As was mentioned in my intro to choosing your wedding photographer, the first question to ask is “are you a pro” – see previous article.
The second question to ask is…..
What is your style? There has been a lot of discussion about photo-journalistic approach to wedding photography. In this cast event is recorded as it happens. At the other end of the scale is the traditional approach with lots of group photos and posed pictures. Then there are photographer that create special moments and capture them.
No one approach is “right”. The important thing is that the style of the photographer is right for you. If you want a traditional album then don’t go for the reportage photographer and vice versa.
If the photographer seems right to you, make sure that you see some of his work just to make sure his style is what you are looking for and that you are happy with the quality of his work.
